Long Beach Peninsula

In our scenic corner of Southwest Washington, the elements are embraced and adventure is everywhere. The Long Beach Peninsula is home to The Discovery Trail, Cape Disappointment State Park, the Port of Ilwaco, miles of pristine beach, and much, much more.

Where in the world is Ilwaco?

Ilwaco is located at the southern end of the Long Beach Peninsula in Southwest Washington. Our historic fishing village overlooks what was previously the main channel of the Columbia River, Cape D, and Baker Bay.

While it is well known as the jumping off point for hardcore fishermen during ocean and Buoy 10 salmon fishing, Ilwaco is a bit of a secret for people new to the Columbia River region. Our port location, while somewhat hidden away, is a great starting place for any adventure on the coast.

We are minutes from nature in every direction. To the North: 5 minutes to the Seaview Beach Approach & 7 minutes to the tourist town of Long Beach. To the South: Just feet from the Port of Ilwaco & mouth of the Columbia River. To the East: 17 minutes from Fort Columbia State Park & 24 minutes from Astoria. To the West: 2 minutes to the terminus of the Discovery Coast Trail & 10 minutes to Cape Disappointment State Park.
